Rainforest Bus Tours at Olympic National Park

With its incredibly diverse climates, from alpine lakes to glaciers to pacific coastline, there is a lot to pull people to Olympic. But maybe the most distinct of all its ecosystems is its rainforests. All three of the temperate rainforests located within the contiguous United States are in Olympic, and present a wonderful opportunity to see one of the rarer climates within this great country.

A great way to experience this landscape in full is through one of the Rainforest Bus Tours offered out of Lake Quinault Lodge. This escapade is a 4-hour journey through the lush Quinault Rainforest, while you sit in the comfort of a 14-passenger tour coach. Guides on each tour explain the history of the location, including the geology of its formation, the interesting plants and wildlife that exist in the rainforest, and, of course, there are plenty of photo-opportunities.

Sightings of elk, black bears, and birds such as bald eagles are common on these tours.
