It’s like minecraft, except the rare earth minerals and gemstones are real, not just digital representations hopes and dreams in a cube-shaped world. This family-friendly activity is great for all ages, and gives people a taste of the ‘rush’ of the Gold Rush. At Bushkill Falls everyone will have fun pretending to be a  miner for a day, learning the proper techniques that it takes to find gemstones  (and nuggets? …If you’re lucky!) in a stream of silt and sediment from the Pocono mountains.

Here is how it works:

1. Purchase a bag of “mining rough” for $10.00.
2. Sift the contents of your bag in the sluice, a trough with circulating water.
3. Uncover all sorts of gems from your mining rough, which you get to take home.
4. Each ‘panner’ will receive a card identifying the found gems they mined.
