Camping in Denali

Denali National Park and Preserve, AK

There are a few ways to go about camping in Denali. One is to camp at one of the 6 great campgrounds along Denali’s Park Road, each providing access to different areas of the park. The other is to go full Bear Grylls by camping in the Denali backcountry wilderness, a land of no trails.

Of course one of the main attractions of the camping is Denali itself, the 20,320-foot snowcapped peak from which the park finds its name. But the mountain is just the crown jewel of the park—there are dazzling vistas at every turn. And when you camp in Denali, you get closer to the beautiful landscape than you can possibly imagine. Lush river meadows and streams, the high alpine tundra, the ice fields and glaciers—they all offer opportunities to explore and discover this unreal place.
