Ice skating has been a tradition at Yosemite since the 1930’s. Apart from incredible views, shopping, and dining, in the wintertime opens Curry Village Ice Rink, a full-size outdoor rink. Visitors come to lace up their skates and take a couple turns around the rink, testing out their skills on the ice.
The outdoor fire pit is great for warming up mid-session, as well as s’mores, of course. Skates are available for rent and there’s even a warming hut for storing your shoes while you’re out on the ice.
The ice rink is open periodically throughout the weekend days in the winter, with breaks throughout to repolish the ice, and in the afternoon on weekdays.
