ARIZONA'S ULTIMATE WESTERN EXPERIENCE
Mormon Lake is a shallow, intermittent lake located in Pleasant Valley, Arizona – directly adjacent to Coconino National Forest and a short drive from Flagstaff and Phoenix. Surrounded by Ponderosa Pine forests, this getaway is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts to hike, camp or go horseback riding. The summer season offers mild temperatures and winter makes it a snowmobile and cross-country skiing destination. Mormon Lake Lodge offers dining, camping, cabin rentals, event space and a general store for all your provisions and souvenirs. You might even time your visit right with a summer rodeo event!
The lake fluctuates seasonally with an average depth of only 10 ft. When full, the lake has a surface area of about 12 square miles, making it the largest natural lake in Arizona. In particularly dry times, the lake has been known to dry up, leaving behind a remnant marsh. Dry or not, it has a beautiful overlook where you can often see various wildlife across the lake's landscape.
